Terms of Service — Naya

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Naya ("the App"), an AI coaching companion created by Chrysalis Leadership Studio. By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What Naya Is

Naya is an AI-powered coaching companion designed to support reflective exploration during identity transitions and periods of personal or professional change. Naya uses ICF-aligned, somatic-informed coaching principles to guide conversations that help you find clarity through better questions — not advice.

Naya is not a human coach. Naya is powered by artificial intelligence (specifically, a large language model). There is no human on the other side of the conversation. Naya's responses are generated by AI guided by a professional coaching methodology framework.

Naya is not a licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or medical professional. Naya is an AI coaching companion only. It is not equipped to diagnose, treat, or manage any mental health condition, nor is it designed to handle mental health crises, suicidal ideation, self-harm, or medical emergencies. Naya's responses should never be interpreted as clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Naya is not a substitute for:

  • Licensed therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment
  • Medical, psychological, psychiatric, financial, or legal advice
  • Human coaching for complex, high-stakes, or crisis situations
  • Emergency or crisis intervention services

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or a medical emergency, please stop using Naya immediately and contact a licensed professional or emergency services. You may reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the U.S.), contact your local emergency number, or reach out to a trusted person in your life. Naya is not monitored by humans and cannot provide real-time crisis support.

Use of Naya does not create a clinician-client, therapist-patient, or fiduciary relationship of any kind.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use Naya. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. AI Disclosure and Coaching Boundaries

In alignment with the ICF AI Coaching Framework and Standards (2024):

  • AI Disclosure: Naya is an AI system, not a human. You will be informed of this before your first coaching conversation and periodically within the experience.
  • System Limitations: Naya's responses are generated by AI and may not always be appropriate, accurate, or applicable to your specific situation. Naya cannot assess your full context in the way a human coach can. Use your own judgment in applying any insights from your conversations.
  • Coaching, Not Therapy: Naya provides reflective, somatic-informed coaching conversations. It is not a licensed mental health service and is not equipped to provide therapy, crisis intervention, or clinical support of any kind. If topics arise that require clinical support — including but not limited to trauma, mental health crises, suicidal ideation, self-harm, clinical diagnosis, or medication — Naya will encourage you to seek appropriate professional support. You should not rely on Naya in place of qualified professional care.
  • Human Coaching Available: For deeper, one-on-one coaching with a credentialed human coach, Chrysalis Leadership Studio offers professional coaching services. Visit chrysalisleaders.com for more information.
  • Potential Bias: Like all AI systems, Naya may carry inherent biases from its training data. If something feels off, inaccurate, or inappropriate, we encourage you to let us know.

4. Your Consent

By beginning a coaching conversation with Naya, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are interacting with an AI, not a human coach, therapist, or counselor
  • Naya is not a licensed mental health service and is not equipped to handle mental health crises or emergencies
  • Naya's responses are AI-generated and may have limitations
  • You are responsible for your own choices, actions, and decisions
  • Naya is not a substitute for professional mental health support
  • Your conversations are saved automatically to support continuity and allow you to revisit past sessions
  • Your data will be processed as described in our Privacy Policy

You may withdraw your consent and stop using Naya at any time.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to provide voluntary, truthful input; use the App for personal self-development purposes only; not exploit, copy, scrape, reproduce, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of the App; not upload illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringing content; not attempt to manipulate the AI to produce harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content; and comply with applicable laws while using the App.

6. Intellectual Property

All App features, coaching methodology, system design, question frameworks, narrative structures, content, and branding belong to Chrysalis Leadership Studio and its creator, Aaron Perkins.

You own your responses and reflections. You grant the App a limited license to use your inputs to generate your coaching conversations, session summaries, and constellation patterns. You may revoke this license by deleting your saved data.

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of Naya is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. Key points:

  • Conversations are saved automatically so you can revisit them and so Naya can provide continuity across sessions
  • Session summaries and emerging patterns (constellation data) are stored to deepen your experience over time
  • All data is stored on encrypted, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified infrastructure with creator-only access
  • Your data is never used to train AI models
  • You can export all your data at any time from your Profile page, in both JSON and plain text formats — in accordance with your right to data portability under GDPR and applicable privacy law
  • You can request deletion of your saved data at any time

Data Retention After Subscription Ends

If your subscription ends — whether through cancellation, expiration, or downgrade — your session history, journal entries, and session summaries will remain accessible in read-only mode. You may export your data at any time from your Profile page. We will retain your data for 12 months after your subscription ends, after which it will be permanently deleted unless you request otherwise by contacting us before the retention period expires. If you wish to have your data deleted sooner, you may request immediate deletion at any time.

By using Naya, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and accepted the Privacy Policy.

8. Payments

Naya is currently available as a free beta. If premium features or paid tiers become available in the future, fees must be paid through approved payment processors, all purchases are final unless otherwise required by applicable law, subscription access lasts for the purchased term, and price changes apply only to future purchases or renewals.

9. Beta Disclaimer

Naya is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice. The service may experience interruptions, bugs, or unexpected behavior. Conversation quality may vary. We actively welcome your feedback to improve the experience. Your use of the beta version is voluntary and at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chrysalis Leadership Studio is not liable for decisions made based on Naya's responses, losses arising from downtime, bugs, data loss, or third-party service interruptions, or any emotional distress, reliance, or outcomes resulting from AI-generated coaching conversations. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to discontinue use and/or request data deletion.

11. Modification and Termination

We may change, update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Significant changes will be communicated within the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, harmful or illegal behavior occurs, or unauthorized system interference is detected. You may stop using Naya at any time and request permanent deletion of your data.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, the parties agree to attempt informal resolution before any formal legal action.
